I started to make a hardware to run Rockbox - the best firmware available which runs on Ipods, Sansas, etc: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/LyreProject I ended up choosing ARM9 instead AVR32 because many players as Ipods are ARM inside and not AVR32.
