Regular: Issue One
This is the very first AVR TV Issue!
It contains a short introduction to what types of podcasts we plan to have, some news regarding the AVR Technical Library and the coming Two-CD split. Then we turn to Nuremberg for a short report from the AVR stand and a quick LIVE introduction to picoPower(TM).

Could you make the channel compatible with Democracy Player, please? It’s an application dedicated to video podcasts that I like to use (available at http://participatoryculture.org/), and it seems to find no items in Atom version of the channel and three items (all the formats separately) in RSS version.

When looking at the podcast with Thunderbird the links just points to nowhere. Lets take this one as an example: http://www.avrtv.com/2007/03/18/hello-world/wp-content/avrtvIssues/avrtv_issue_001/avrtv_issue_001.mov
Otherwise, you guys rock
Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next program.

What a brilliant idea, and very well carried out. Well done, Atmel.

Thanks for commenting!
Johan: I dont understand how you get that link - what is the date doing in there? (2007/03/18)
That link is not correct, so a 404 is of course returned.
Tell me how you found that link?

Great Podcast!!!
Do you plan to make smal tutorials for the beginers?
Maybe some examples of simple code?
Learning with book is kind of boring sometimes!
March 29th, 2007 at 11:50 am
Hello Romano,
there will be tutorials eventually
Johan: if you found those crippled links in the Archive section, they should be OK now.

That’s cool. I’m newbies in AVR. Just 8 months ago but i love it.

This is indeed geeky. Brilliant Atmel! Home to learn some new tricks here even though I’ve been using the AVR for years now.
Nice job

Good work, Atmel!!! but….
watching the flash video with firefox under linux at 1920×1280 is like trying watch an animated post stamp from the other side of the room
Or maybe I really need a new pair of glasses…..
Somebody knows a handy tool to resize flash animations?

Good stuff. Its nice to know what’s going on with Atmel and AVRs.
Can we have a feed for the podcast in other formats like Windows Media? Not everyone uses iPods..
April 1st, 2007 at 4:07 am
@raul
If you want a big flash movie, just open the swf in FF and it *should* scale to the size of the window. Also you can download one of the 4 formats linked on the post (something, 3gp, wmv, h.264)
@NTT
there are 4 formats linked in the post, one of which is WMV (though I’m not sure why anyone would want to use such an awful codec). h.264 is also available and not just for iPods, it’s actually a really nice codec.
I too would like democracy support, that would be really cool.
And I REALLY want an AVR hat
Anyway, I like this idea and I’m excited for the next episode, keep up the great work.
April 1st, 2007 at 11:45 am
n3ldan: It should work with democracy now (RSS). Have one question though: which codec would you prefer to be enclosured in the rss feed?. Right now it is the wmv-version.

Wow, this is totally awesome. So far I’m quite impressed ! Keep it up! More companies should learn from you, because you rock.

Excellent job, Eivind!
I now see, what you’ve been up to lately. I really liked the intro, but the rest is fine also. I’m eager for the next podcast. Keep up the good work.

Hey Evind,
Great job, keep up the good work.

Great job Atmel, Eivind. Finally, useful reason for a pod cast! I’ve been so turned off from pod casts as the only thing I’ve seen them used for is teenyboppers watching the latest pop band video.
This is great, obviously no substitute to datasheets, appnotes or tutorials as their reference value is infinite. However, I see a potential for these “Special Issues” to turn into mini classes for a sort of AVR-U. I don’t find reading datasheets boring, but most people agree that having a lecture to go with the text book is well worth the price of tuition. If Atmel is going to realize this as a service to customers (fans?), that will be awesome.
Is there a way I could subscribe to a mailing list that sends out an email when a new AVR TV Issue is available? I haven’t jumped on that whole i-pod band wagon and doubt I will. Perhaps you could post the answer in your FAQ along with a couple of the other questions here.
Good work. BTW, I want one of those AVR tukes/stocking hats too! Where is the AVR apparel store?

Excellent effort - all we need now is for someone to fix the RDD feed links. It is missing a slash in the link.
Waiting to see what is next.

A little off today - should have said RSS and not RDD. Atleast my figures were consistent.

Hello Atmel,
There are still many people that use older machines and would like to view the AVR TV information but without having to use Apple iTunes. Set it up as a mp3 file or other that can be downloaded and played on a wide variety of players/machines.

Hello. There’s a definition for “podcast” on the “About AVR TV” page but there’s nothing related to what “ARV” is. I mean, I know what a podcast is. I know what a video podcast is. I’m pretty sure “Amtel” is some kind of a chip manufacturing company right? So, in the about page, you should say what the acronym “AVR” stands for, what it is, and who makes it or what ever, right? Maybe some things it could be used for? And then you could also eliminate the FAQ unless there are some questions on it, cause it’s just annoying to go to the FAQ and find a link right back to the About page, that doesn’t have any info in it either. Thanks!

Some time before, I needed to buy a good house for my corporation but I did not earn enough money and couldn’t order anything. Thank heaven my fellow adviced to get the business loans at trustworthy bank. Thus, I acted so and was satisfied with my secured loan.
